Description of Service
Assessment:
The Alfred Voice Clinic offers specialist assessment of the broad spectrum of functional and organic voice disorders found in normal, professional and performance voice patients.
Case history and Stroboscopic evaluation of the vocal fold vibration, mucosal wave and physiological health are conducted by an Ear Nose & Throat Surgeon and Speech Pathologist with specialised interest in Voice Assessment and Management.
Management:
Acoustic analysis of parameters including fundamental frequency, pitch range, volume, vocal fold contact time, nasality and phonation breaks are also available.
Outcome:
Detailed reporting of assessment outcome, photographic representation and recommendations for management are provided to referring doctors and patients.
Patients are able to view directly their own vocal fold function during phonation to assist better understanding of their problem

Referral and appointments are made directly to The Alfred Speech Pathology Department (Phone: 03 9076 3339 Fax: 03 9076 2702 ).
Referral letters must accompany all referral requests.
