TopThe Primary Mental Health Team (PMHT) provides support and consultation to primary care services in Melbourne's Inner South East. The PMHT assists General Practitioners (GPs) and other primary care service providers in working with individuals who have common and sometimes complex mental health problems, particularly anxiety and depression. Services provided include primary, secondary and tertiary interventions, education and training.
Access to psychiatric assessments is provided for individuals referred by their General Practitioner. This service is therefore aligned to GPs practicing in the Alfred catchment area, regardless of the patient's address. The aim is to provide comprehensive assessment and management recommendations for individuals with high prevalence disorders not currently engaged with psychiatric services.
