Making a Complaint at The Alfred

As one of our patients you are the focus of our efforts. If you have any concerns or problems about any aspect of your care, please tell the nurse, doctor or health professional in your ward.

You will be able to express any concerns or problems you have about your experience in the Hospital without any fear of being disadvantaged.

If after speaking with staff you feel that you would like further assistance, please contact the Patient Liaison Officer.

If you have a concern or problem about any aspect of your stay or treatment, please tell the staff directly involved with your care.

Caulfield Hospital's staff are committed to solving problems quickly. If you are not satisfied with the response you receive you can speak to our Liaison Officer.

We are always happy to hear from patients and visitors about the service and care we provide. Compliments and complaints help us improve our service and we value your feedback.

The Health Services Commissioner

The Health Services Commissioner investigates and resolves complaints by health care consumers against the health care providers.

You may choose to involve the Health Services Commissioner if Alfred Health does not resolve any problem to your satisfaction. You can contact the Commissioner at:

Whistleblowers Protection Act

The Victorian Government has introduced the Whistleblowers Protection Act to protect people who disclose information about serious wrongdoing within the Victorian public sector, of which Alfred Health is a part.

The Act also provides a framework for the investigation of the matters disclosed.
